With its rich history, the house was built in 1832 by Allen Glover for his daughter Sarah Serena Glover and her husband Francis Strother Lyon. The two-story brick house embodies two major architectural trends in the Antebellum South, that of the original brick Federal-style structure to the later modifications to a more Greek Revival style in the 1840’s.
The Marengo County Historical Commission today, owns Bluff Hall and it’s operated as a historic house museum.
